Travely-Family expedition format

Not a cruise. A real sea expedition.

Antarctica aboard expedition yachts and schooners - in a small group, with people for whom the ocean is a profession and a way of life.

  • Small groups
  • Expedition sailing vessels
  • Routes shaped by weather and ice

Why a yacht

Not watching from afar, but becoming part of the journey

An expedition yacht offers rare proximity to the place: hearing the ice, going ashore in a small group and watching the ocean change.

Travely-Family grew out of real ocean passages and work in high latitudes. We help you choose a route, prepare for it and understand what to expect from each day – without making promises about things no person can control.

Questions and answers

Before you decide

Do I need sailing experience?

No. The crew is responsible for handling the vessel and for safety. You may take part in life aboard if you wish and in accordance with the captain's instructions.

How is a yacht expedition different from a cruise?

A small group lives closer to the water and the route. The programme is more flexible, while landings and passages depend on weather, ice and the captain's decisions.

What happens in bad weather?

Safety takes priority over the schedule. The captain may change the sequence of landings, the route and passage times in response to actual conditions.

How do I choose between the Drake Passage and Fly & Sail?

Crossing the Drake Passage gives you the complete sea-expedition experience. Fly & Sail saves time and suits travellers who want to spend more of their journey around the Antarctic Peninsula itself.

How do I reserve a place?

Message us on WhatsApp. We will check availability, confirm the vessel and cabin arrangements, and send you the terms and documents. A deposit of at least 25% is required to secure a booking.

How far in advance should I decide?

Yachts have few berths and some dates are already closed. It is best to enquire early; we will confirm actual availability before any payment is made.
