Steel expedition yacht
Aurora
A compact steel sailing yacht with a racing past, rebuilt for polar expeditions and small groups.
About the vessel
Racing heritage and a polar focus
Aurora was built in Plymouth in 1991 for the BT Global Challenge round-the-world race, in which crews sailed against the prevailing winds.
RUSARC acquired the yacht in 2016. In 2017, she was refitted for polar voyages: the cabins were reconfigured, the interior renewed and a deckhouse installed.
Thanks to her compact size, Aurora accommodates an intimate group of up to nine guests and suits expedition routes with frequent shore landings.
