Western Australia: The Film

Western Australia, or Beating the Quarantine — all the highlights, flights, losses and finds are in our new film! In the middle of the Indian Ocean, we broke down. We were left without an engine or heater in the cold southern latitudes. We had to head north under sail and miss our only chance in two months to make a stop. The lifeless, storm-lashed Kerguelen Islands were left astern. Western Australia loomed as a distant goal. The captain sewing the sails. Photo by Yulia Galushina But every cloud has a silver lining! If it hadn’t been for that, Western Australia would have slammed shut right in our faces... The strict controls on entering the country took a quarter of our provisions away to be destroyed. But our joy at reaching land after 53 relentless days of storms and breakdowns was greater. That joy was so overwhelming that we decided to celebrate. We took a bottle of red wine and a new MacBook, which held three new films waiting to be uploaded. And... See what happened next in the film. Force majeure and Western Australia in all its glory.
